Coach Matlock is entering his second and final season as an assistant coach with the Abingdon Falcons. Matlock recently accepted the head football coaching position at his high school alma mater, Holston. A 2005 graduate of UVA-Wise, Jason was the starting catcher and the captain of his alma mater's baseball program. A leader on and off the field, Matlock was the recipient of the 2005 NAIA Dr. LeRoy Walker Champions of Character Award. The award was established to recognize a student-athlete    that best exemplifies the qualities of scholarship, character, and sportsmanship. Jason works primarily with the Falcon catchers and hitters. In the classroom, he is a Special Education teacher.
