The All-Region IV team was recently announced. Sophomore Justin Malone was selected as the 1st team Utility player, while Junior Duran Carson was a first team selection as an outfielder. Senior Eric Silcox was also an honorable mention selection.
The All-Highlands District team was recently released. First team selections for the Falcons were Justin Malone (P, Utility), Eric Silcox (1B), Duran Carson (OF), and Anthony Looney (P). Second team selections were Aaron Hagy (P), Ben Barker (SS), Tyler Malone(2B), and P. J. Russell (OF).
The Falcons' 2006 season came to an end as the Dan River Wildcats defeated Abingdon by a score of 6-3. Casey Payne and Aaron Hagy provided run scoring doubles and Sophomore P. J. Russell provided a solo homer to lead the offensive attack. Abingdon ended the season with a 19-4 record and will lose five seniors to graduation. Abingdon was defeated 7-6 in the finals of the Highlands District Tournament. After trailing 5-3 with two outs in the top pf the 7th, the Falcons stormed back behind a pair of triples from Justin Malone and Eric SIicox to take a 6-5 lead.. However, Virginia High managed to score 2 runs in the bottom of the 7th to claim the tournament title. The Falcons will now travel to Dan River in the opening round of the Region IV playoffs. Game time is set for a 6:00 p.m.
In the first round of the Highlands District Tournament, Abingdon defeated Lee High by a score of 7-2. Details of the game can be found in the Bristol Herald Courier, The Falcons will play Virginia High on Saturday night at 7:30 p.m. at DeVault Stadium in Bristol. The J. V. Championship; also between Abingdon and Virginia High, will begin at 5:00 p.m. Abingdon will also travel to Dan River High School on Tuesday, May 30th for a 6:00 p.m. start in the first round of the Region IV playoffs.
The Falcons ended the regular season with a 9-4 loss to Virginia High. With the defeat, Abingdon is now 18-2 on the season. The Falcons jumped out to an early 3-0 lead, but were victimized by a seven run third inning. Sophmore Justin Malone had three singles, while P. J. Russell and Duran Carson added a pair of hits each. Abingdon will now play Lee High on Tuesday, May 23rd at 5:00 p.m. in the first round of the Highlands District Tournament which will be played at Virginia High's DeVault Stadium.
Abingdon defeated John Battle in extra innings by a score of 7-5. Senior Aaron Hagy notched his 4th victory of the season as he tossed 3 scoreless innings in relief of Senior Tyler Malone. Duran Carson had 3 hits, while sophomore Justin Malone provided a pair of hits including the game winning RBI in the top of the 9th. The Falcons are now 18-1 on the season and will host Virginia High on Friday @ 7:00 p.m.
The Falcons improved to 17-1 on the season with their 12-2 win against the Marion Scarlet Hurricane. Tyler Malone had 3 hits and 3 RBI, while Eric Silcox provided a pair of singles and a 2 RBI triple to highlight the offensive scoring. Sophomore Justin Malone notched his 6th victory of the season, allowing 2 hits in a complete game effort. Abingdon's next scheduled contest will be on Friday, May 19th as they host Virginia High in Highlands District action.
The Abingdon Falcons defeated Grayson County by a score of 4-0 to improve their record to 16-1. Junior Anthony Looney tossed a complete game three hitter to improve his record to 5-0 on the season. Sophomore Casey Payne belted a solo homerun while Senior Tyler Malone continued his hot hitting with a 3 for 4 night. Duran Carson, Ben Barker, and P.J. Russell each added a pair of hits in the victory. Abingdon will be in action again on Thursday night as they host Marion at 7:00 p.m.

Abingdon defeated Tazewell by a score of 12-2 as the Falcons erupted for 14 hits to improve to 14-1 on the season. Seniors Eric Silcox and Ben Barker blasted home runs, while junior Duran Carson tripled to highlight the offensive scoring. Silcox, Barker, junior Anthony Looney, sophomore Justin Malone, and senior Tyler Malone were 2 for 3 on the night. Senior Aaron Hagy picked up the win, scattering 4 hits in 5 innings of work. Hagy is now 3-0 with 2 saves.
In a game played on Friday night, The Falcons were defeated by Virginia High by a score of 5-4. Senior Tyler Malone and Junior Duran Carson had two hits each to lead the Abingdon offensive attack. The Falcons are now 13-1 overall and 2-1 in district play.
In non-district action, Abingdon defeated Tennessee High by a score of 12-2. Tyler Malone picked up his 3rd victory of the season as the Falcons improved to 13-0. Junior Duran Carson was 4 for 4 on the night to highlight the offensive attack.

Justin Malone picked up his 4th victory of the season as the Falcons improved to 11-0 with their 17-2 victory over Marion. Malone scattered 4 hits with 7 K's in 5 innings of work. The Falcons had 18 hits, including 3 each by Anthony Looney, Eric Silcox, and Justin Malone. Senior Aaron Church, sophomore P. J. Russell, and junior Duran Carson also added two hits each to help lead the Abingdon offensive attack.
The Falcons improved to 10-0 on the season as they defeated Richlands by a score of 5-4. Senior Aaron Hagy picked up the victory, tossing 3 innings of scoreless relief. Abingdon starter Tyler Malone scattered 4 hits while striking out 8 in 4 innings of work. Hagy had 6 strikeouts in his 3 innings of relief as the Falcons were able to overcome a 4-3 deficit. Senior Eric Silcox hit the game tying homerun in the bottom of the 5th to highlight Abingdon's offensive attack.
Junior Anthony Looney picked up his 3rd victory of the season while Senior Aaron Hagy notched his second save as the Falcons held on to defeat Tennessee High by a score of 5-4. Ben Barker led the offensive attack with a run scoring single and a 2 RBI homerun. Junior Duran Carson also had a big night at the plate with a double and a pair of singles.
Sophomore P. J. Russell had three hits, including a three-run homerun, to help lead the Falcons to a 9-3 victory over visiting Lee High. Sophomore Justin Malone picked up the complete game victory, allowing one earned run in seven innings of work. Justin helped his own cause with a single and a pair of doubles at the plate. Senior Tyler Malone also added three hits and Senior Ben Barker had a 2 RBI single to highlight Abingdon's offensive attack.
Senior Tyler Malone picked up the win and Senior Aaron Hagy notched the save as the Falcons held on to defeat Chilhowie 7-6. The Falcons overcame 7 errors to pick up their 7th victory of the season.

In a benefit game played on Saturday night at Falcon Park, the Pigeon Forge Tigers defeated the Abingdon Falcons by a score of 6 to 3. Juniors Duran Carson and Anthony Looney had two hits each to lead the AHS offense.
The Falcons improved to 5-0 with their 9-0 victory over Tazewell. Sophomore Justin Malone picked up the victory striking out 13 batters and scattering 3 hits in 7 innings of work. Tyler Malone helped lead the offensive attack with 3 hits; while Junior Anthony Looney provided 3 RBI on a pair of doubles. Junior Duran Carson and Justin Malone also added 2 hits each as the Falcons had 12 hits on the evening.

Abingdon picked up their second victory of the season as Sophomore Casey Payne drove in the tying and go ahead runs with his double in the bottom half of the 6th inning. Aaron Hagy picked up his first victory of the season, tossing six strong innings of relief.
