Abingdon notched a 14-8 non-district victory over Virginia High. Freshman Matt Ratliff had 3 hits and 4 RBI in his first varsity start. Senior Rob Bays also had 3 hits, while Freshman Lukas Hart added a pair of hits in the victory. Sophomore pitcher Zack Fritz pitched 5 strong innings, but after six innings of play the Falcons trailed 8-7. Senior Austin Arnold and Junior Cody Hahn pitched the final two innings as Abingdon improved to 11-7. The Falcons will host Tazewell at 7:00 on Friday.

On Senior Night at Falcon Park, Abingdon defeated Marion 5-4 in an exciting Southwest District matchup. Heath Shelton had 3 hits, including a triple to lead off the bottom of the 7th. Shelton scored the winning run on a passed ball as the Falcons improved to 5-2 in district play. Senior Austin Arnold picked up the win in relief of starter Cade Berry. Berry had a strong outing, scattering 8 hits in six innings of work. Senior Rob Bays also provided an RBI single while Jacob Meade added a pair of hits in the victory. Clint Ratliff also added an RBI single. Shelton, Bays, Arnold as well as Seniors Austin Dove, Travis Shrewsbury, and Zack Totonchian were honored in a pre-game cermony. Abingdon will travel to Virginia High on Thursday for a 5:00 start and will host Tazewell on Friday in their final Southwest District game of the season at 7:00.

The Falcons dropped a 4-0 decision at Richlands on Tuesday. Abingdon only had a pair of hits; a single by Austin Dove and a single by Jacob Meade. With that loss and a win by forfeit with Carroll County, the Falcons are now 9-6 overall and 4-2 in the Southwest District.

Heath Shelton pitched a complete game shutout as Abingdon defeated Marion 8-0. Shelton had 12K's and allowed only 3 hits in the win. Sophomore Clint Ratliff had a pair of run scoring hits in the victory. The Falcons travel to Richlands on Tuesday at 5:00.

Cade Berry scattered 5 hits, tossing a complete game as Abingdon defeated John Battle 5-1. Senior Rob Bays provided all of the run support the Falcons would need with a 3 RBI triple in the 4th inning. Abingdon will travel to Marion on Friday for a district contest beginning at 7:00 p.m.

Sophomore Zack Fritz pitched 4 scoreless innings to notch his first high school victory as Abingdon defeated Lebanon 6 to 3. Heath Shelton provided a pair of hits, including an RBI double. Jacob Meade(2 RBI), Clint Ratliff(1 RBI), and Andrew Francisco(1 RBI) also added run scoring hits in the victory. Senior Austin Arnold pitched a scoreless 7th inning to pick up the save. Abingdon will travel to John Battle on Wednesday for a 6:00 start.

Abingdon was defeated 4-2 at Tazewell on Friday night. The Falcons were led offensively by freshman Lukas Hart who provided a pair of hits, including a double. Senior Rob Bays also provided an RBI double. Senior Heath Shelton pitched six strong innings, but the Falcons were unable to overcome a 3-run first inning. Abingdon hosts Lebanon tomorrow at 2:00 p.m.

Cody Hahn pitched 6 strong innings to notch the victory and Senior Austin Arnold picked up the save as Abingdon defeated Carroll County 7-5. Junior Jacob Meade led the Falcons at the plate, going 4 for 4 with a pair of triples. Clint Ratliff also added a pair of hits in the victory. Abingdon will travel to Tazewell on Friday for a 7:00 district contest.

Heath Shelton picked up the win as Abingdon opened up Southwest District play with a 12-2 victory over Richlands. Travis Shrewsbury and Clint Ratliff each had two hits, while Rob Bays had 3 RBI in the win. Senior Austin Dove also added a pair of RBI in the victory. Abingdon will host Carroll County on Tuesday.

The Falcons jumped out to a 6-0 first inning lead, but were unable to hold on as Sullivan East defeated the Falcons by a score of 10-8. Abingdon will host Richlands in their first district game of the season on Friday.

Abingdon dropped a 9-7 decision to visiting Virginia High. Heath Shelton and Johnathan Head had a pair of hits in the loss as the Falcons were maligned by six errors. Abingdon will travel to Sullivan East on Thursday and will host Richlands on Friday.

The Falcons posted a 13-3 victory over visiting Holston High School. Clint Ratliff had 3 hits while Travis Shrewsbury, Johnathan Head, and Jacob Meade added two hits each in the victory. Heath Shelton picked up the win as Abingdon improved to 3-2 on the season. Abingdon hosts Lebanon on Tuesday at 7:00 and travels to John S. Battle on Thursday at 7:00.

Abingdon fell to 2-2 on the season, losing to John Battle by a score of 6-3. A lack of timely hitting doomed the Falcons as they left 11 runners on base. Junior Jacob Meade provided a pair of doubles in the loss. AHS will host Holston on Friday at 6:00 p.m.

The Falcons were defeated by Sullivan East 15-7. Abingdon held a 5-1 lead in the 5th inning before the Patriots erupted for 14 runs in the final 3 innings. Cody Hahn had a pair of hits in the loss. The Falcons will host John Battle on Tuesday at 7:00 p.m.

Abingdon slipped past Lebanon 5-2 on Tuesday. Junior Cody Hahn had an RBI single and tossed two scoreless innings of relief to help the Falcons to victory. Rob Bays and Jacob Meade also added a pair of RBI doubles as Abingdon improves to 2-0 on the season. Austin Arnold relieved starter Cade Berry in the 4th, tossing two scoreless innings to pick up his 2nd win of the season. The Falcons host Sullivan East on Friday at 7:00 p.m.

The Falcons opened up the 2012 season with an exciting 8-7 come from behind victory over the visiting Honaker Tigers. Senior Heath Shelton had 8 K's in 3 1/3 innings of work while Senior Austin Arnold pitched two scoreless innings to notch the victory. Senior Rob Bays doubled and provided the game winning RBI on a sacrifice fly in the bottom of the 6th inning. Junior Johnathan Head also added a 2 RBI single. Abingdon will travel to Lebanon on Tuesday, March 20th for a non-distrct game that begins at 5:00 p.m.
